Big Changes

Hello Folks, Louise here.
Do any of you remember the early days of Dottie's World? It was fab wasn't it! Unfortunately life sometimes gets in our ways and things suffer. When life grabbed me by the ears and gave me a big mighty shake the downloads and the blog and my lovely DT friends are the ones that got neglected. I can't apologise for it really because it was out of my control. Fortunately God and my family and friends got me through and I'm back and stronger for it. I have a new home, a fabulous new man and a new job so we at Dottie's World think it's time for a fresh new blog, new look new name and new focus. Keep a look out on here to be redirected very soon.

More exciting news, I'm back on form with a fabulous new set of downloads which will be launched at the same time as the new blog! WOO HOO

Please join me for a celebratory sing song xxxxxx

Butterfly card

Hello again
Just wanted to show you my card with this beautiful butterfly from the Tatto Collection- just push the shop button on top and you find it in the digis.
I was really inspired by Lou`s box, and I printed the butterfly tree times, just a bit smaller each time, colored with my copics and layered them on top of each other.

The rest of the card is made by old papers and bling from my stash, this is mainly scraps and bits and peieces.
So I hope you get inspired to try for your self.
Wish you all a great weekend.
Hugs Gunn :-)

Tatto girl

It`s been a while since my last post. But I do have a busy time at work with late nights so not so much time for crafting.
I just had to take a breake from work and do something fun. So I deceided to play a bit with the new collection from Lou, it is great.
This is what I came up with for now

Butterfly Gift Box

Hello there, Louise here,

Today I've been cleaning out my shed - not a nice job but I'm sure glad it's done. I'm even more glad that I also managed to do a quickie make - long overdue!

I used one of my new drawings (from the tattoo collection) for this one. Time was short so everything was printed in colour. Take a look ....

My favourite thing about digi images is that you have the ability to re size and crop so easily, it makes layering a breeze - that's good for me because I love 3D work. I hope you like my creation, I think this image would be nice used the same way but on a card I'd like to see how you use it too. Click on the 'shop' link at the top of the page if you would like to view our digi images.

Have a great week xxxx

The Kiss

Hello everybody, Louise here.

I'm very sorry I haven't been blogging, I've been a very busy bee at work - making stage scenery - amongst other things. You haven't had any new downloads in ages, that's also my fault but we do have one on it's way to you shortly.

I'm currently making some projects using my DT pack from Charmed Cards and Crafts (our digi home) and will soon have some sneak peeks to tempt you with.

In the mean time I have a project I finished recently. It's completely unrelated to Dottie's World and Charmed but I hope it inspires you nonetheless.

I moved into my new house recently and the walls have been looking particularly bare. I was looking to buy a print on canvas buy Gustav Klimt (I LOVE his style!) but I figured that for the pretty hefty price I would be paying I may as well paint one myself - why not! It cost a fraction of the price and I was able to adapt my favourite picture (The Kiss) to suit my colour scheme and to represent myself and my partner - his skin is dark so I wanted to change that from the original.

Here's the original inspiration by Gustav Klimt....

And here is my take on it.....

I used Acrylic paint on canvas and then embellished it with sequins, gold leaf, relief paint, micro beads....the list goes on. You see embellishments don't have to be saved for cardmaking and scrapbooking, think big!
